According to The Sun, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have secretly removed their first names from baby Prince Archie’s birth certificate. “Rachel Meghan” has been removed to leave only “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex”.

The unprecedented gesture could be seen as an affront to the Cambridge family, who put Kate Middleton’s name on their children’s certificates.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry did not respond to The Sun on Sunday’s request for comment, but royal reporter Omid Scobie – author of the biography Finding Freedom – published in January 2021 on X a statement from a spokesman for the couple.
According to the statement of reasons, the decision to make changes to the birth certificate was “dictated by the Palace” and was not taken by “Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, nor the Duke of Sussex”.
Prince Archie was born on May 6, 2019, and his birth was announced on May 17. The change was made on June 5, 2021, amid rumors of a rift between Prince Harry and his brother William.
Later, the two renounced the royal life.
The Queen’s former press secretary, Dickie Arbiter, said: “Maybe that was the first part of their plan.”
“For a member of the royal family to alter a birth certificate is unprecedented, but to remove the first name is remarkable. Perhaps this is another sign that they were desperate to do something different from the Cambridges.”said specialist Ingrid Seward.
