The warning related to a destination preferred by Romanians. “Practically, there are no thieves in Greece, but there are Romanians in Greece”

Romanians vacationing in Greece should be careful when leaving their cars in the parking lot, even if it is paid. A Romanian woman told how she surprised a young man trying to open car doors in a paid parking lot. He fled in a car with Bucharest license plates.

Elena warned a travel group – Forum Grecia – about the incident she suffered in Uranopoli. The city is highly sought after by tourists, especially those who wish to visit the nearby monastic republic of Mount Athos. In Uranopolis, you can obtain the document certifying the permission to access the Holy Mountain and to stay in the monasteries there, for the duration of the pilgrimage.

Good morning! In this post I just want to warn you, although it is already known that there are car thieves/burglars in Greece. It happened yesterday, in the paid parking lot, that is, fenced and with a barrier in Ouranopoli. There was a young man who “walked” a small dog through the parking lot, trying all the doors of the cars parked there; my husband caught him doing this in our car, apostrophically, normal, and the dapper young man hit him in the head with the dog’s leash” – reported the woman.

She specified that the young man was waiting for a young lady next to a car with the engine running, not parked – a white Tesla with a Bucharest license plate. This “he started shouting: “what’s wrong with him!!!” repeating several times, as if the husband had assaulted him…, after which they took their urgent flight.“- said the woman.

Romanians’ reactions

In a way typical of Romanian forums, those who committed made jokes about the victims of the incident. “Let the husband also tell us the version he experienced himself… Maybe he remembered the car number… if he didn’t reset the leash strike!…” –George commented. “If he remembered the car number, I would write it to you” – replied Elena.

“How did you know that the Tesla had the engine running?”” – Octavian intervened.

“It’s ecologically and sustainably harvested in Greece right next to the holy Mount Athos. With Tesla, with the engine running, without noise using the “puppy” method. Thieves giving and taking hands” – commented Traian.

“He wanted to steal electricity. P.S. pleasant and uneventful vacation” – Sorin also entered the discussion.

“Animal Protection must also be notified, now they are also using dogs for possible criminal acts!” – Cosmin also intervened.

“Police in Greece are numb”

One of the group administrators asked: “What did the police say when you told them that too?”

Elena claimed that she did not notify the Police, believing that there would be no point.

“Are there Police in Greece?” – another commenter proved him right.

Dan stated: “The police in Greece are numb, from the period of the 90s when there were few theft crimes. They know how to take numbers from cars, to lie in wait with the radar (I think they were taught by their Bulgarian and Romanian counterparts, otherwise I tell you to make a written complaint, that it will be resolved, looked into and prescribed!”

He was puzzled that the hit man did not react: “At least a stone, I kept finding, that it has that parking lot at the stones, as much as it includes and you had to be faster, a picture with the car’s phone”.

“there are no thieves in Greece randomly, but there are Romanians in Greece,”

Lavinia commented on the fact that the alleged criminal got into a car with Bucharest license plates: “Also ours...”

“If he was Romanian, put the number on the car to make him a star! And I suspect that the person was also darker in color” – Flory intervened.

Andra drew the wrong conclusion that in fact, there are no thieves in Greece, but Romanians are criminals:

“Practically, there are no random thieves in Greece, but there are Romanians in Greece, who do what they know how to do.”

The hypothesis was quickly criticized by Mihaela, who is married to a Greek: “The Greek husband had his car broken into by other Greeks. Can you believe it? Only the Romanians steal… In Greecethey steal a lot and what do you think? And the Greeks steal!!”

“In any post like this, the victim is always an apostrophe”

“White Tesla with engine running, small dog, elegant young lady. So many details and yet the parking number was not retained. Spor in everything” – Ștefan intervened. “I don’t know why with any post like this, but the victim is always an apostrophe… it’s good that people have pointed out the problem, let’s be careful if we get to that place too. Thank you for your attention”, Daniel claimed.

Elena concluded:

Yes, thanks for the comments, I could answer each of you separately, but I would complicate myself too much and there is no point; so many details for what? I’m already sorry. Sorry for bothering you, maybe you had something else to do…I just warned you”.
