After more than 36 hours of searching against the clock, two girls from Târnăveni, aged 4 and 5, who disappeared on Sunday while playing near the house, have been found and are safe. They were at the edge of a forest, in an isolated area, scared and frozen, being saved by forester Aurel Frandeș.
“The little girls were crying, they were frozen. Seeing the Ro-Alert message, I realized they were the ones wanted. I dressed them and called the police.” said the forester, employee of the Luduș Forestry, Mureș Forestry Directorate.
After participating in the search, Aurel Frandeș found the two little ones at the edge of a forest, at the top of an isolated hill. The little girls were scared and crying.
“He immediately notified the authorities, however, because the terrain was very difficult and the teams could not intervene in the area, he had to go down, carrying one of the girls on his back and carrying the other in his arms. After a distance of 3 kilometers, Aurel Frandeș met the authorities and handed the girls over safely”. sent the National Directorate of Romsilva Forests.

Regia Romsilva transmitted: “We are proud of our colleague’s deed and thank him for his special efforts to help the community.”
The two little girls, Rebeca and Melisa, were picked up by medical crews and transported to a hospital unit for health evaluation, given the long exposure to the cold.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed that the little girls are safe and thanked all those involved in the rescue operation. “Two lives saved through solidarity, involvement and hope. Respect and gratitude to colleagues from MAI structures and volunteers“, the institution sent.
The search operation mobilized around 500 people, including police, firefighters, gendarmes, rescuers and locals, who used tracking dogs, drones and all-terrain vehicles to check nearby fields and forests.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the girls’ disappearance, but so far there are no indications of a possible abduction. Police are analyzing surveillance footage and checking people and vehicles in the area.
