The Minister of Education, Daniel David, transmitted on Thursday evening, by posting on Facebook, that starting with the next school year will be forbidden, by law, to organize courses in three exchanges in pre-university education.

According to the Education Law, starting with the academic year 2025-2026 this is forbidden“, Said the minister, according to News.ro.

He stressed that this practice, still present in some schools in Romania, is “A major problem, which affects the quality of the educational act” and must be removed.

The minister acknowledged that at present some exceptions are offered for the courses in this way, but said that they are rare and solutions must be found to no longer be needed. “This is discouraged by the legislation we have, some exceptions are given just to carry out the educational activity, but there are exceptions and it is not something widespread in the system. But it is right, and few, we must find solutions to correct this situation.”David said.

The decision is part of a larger plan to improve the conditions in schools and support students and teachers who, according to the minister, need a balanced and efficient educational environment.
