The organizers of the Ţiriac Open 2024 tennis tournament announced, on Wednesday, on the official Facebook page, the presence in Bucharest of the Canadian player Denis Shapovalov, former number 10 in the ATP ranking.

Ion Țiriac also does, from time to time, concrete things for Romanian sport

It's time to reveal the first top player to participate in this prestigious event: none other than the player who achieved the feat of being ranked 10th in the ATP ranking in 2020, Denis Shapovalov. It is an honor to have him among our competitors and we look forward to seeing him in action on our field. The names of the most important tennis players present on the main singles draw are to be announced in the next period“, announced the organizers of the tournament.

The ATP 250 “Tiriac Open” international tennis tournament, with prizes totaling 580,000 euros, will take place between April 14-21, 2024 in Bucharest. The only ATP 250 tennis tournament organized in Romania will take place in the “Bazei Sportive Năstase/Marica”, and the matches will take place outdoors, on clay.

After 8 years of absence in Romania, the tournament returns with the 25th edition, and former tennis player Ion Ţiriac states that he will stay here: “Tennis is coming home. This time he will stay in Romania. I have been waiting for this moment for years, I am glad that it has arrived. We are waiting for you all at the tournament“.

The tickets, available exclusively online, will be available through the www.entertix.ro platform, starting on Wednesday, the organizers announced.

We have prepared with care and dedication so that the ATP 250 Tiriac Open tournament, which returns to Bucharest after a long break, will be a memorable and authentic experience for fans of this sport. We assure all those who will take part in this competition that they will witness an international level show“, said Cosmin Hodor, the director of the tournament.

Spectators will be able to purchase tickets valid for one day of the tournament, which will allow them access to all the matches scheduled for that day. These will include access both to the matches on the central court and to those on the secondary courts. If a match is postponed or continued the following day, ticket holders from the previous day will not be guaranteed access, these being only valid for matches on the day of their original purchase.

The price of access tickets to the Ţiriac Open starts from 50 lei and 150 lei, on the day of the finals.

The winner of the ATP 250 tennis tournament will receive 250 ATP points, with the competition thus attracting a field of top players from the top 100 in the ATP ranking.
