According to New York-based divorce attorney James Sexton, marriages fall apart over infidelity and money, the NY Post reports.
Appearing on Steven Bartlett's “The Diary Of A CEO” podcast, the lawyer explained that when it comes to infidelity, while cheating is common, it is “only one component”.
Sexton said a lack of sex usually leads to infidelity, noting that men want more sex, while women focus on the quality of intercourse.
“It's the same reason porn is more popular with men than women – because men just want to do their jobSexton stated.
“Money has a lot to do with power. Money is about control. Money has to do with opportunity, with security, with a lot of things, but it's not really about moneySexton said.
In order not to reach the brink of divorce, the lawyer recommends that spouses pay attention to each other.
As an example, he suggested that people – especially men – write random love notes to their wives to remind them how much and why they love them.
