Traffic on the Friendship Bridge, Giurgiu-Ruse, was reopened on Thursday, December 18, in both directions, and this will remain valid for the entire winter holidays, until January 8, 2026.
“The Territorial Inspectorate of the Giurgiu Border Police informs traffic participants that, starting today, December 18, traffic on the Friendship Bridge has been reopened and is moving normally in both directions. According to the communication sent by the Bulgarian border authorities, road traffic on the Giurgiu – Ruse Friendship Bridge has resumed in both directions, including the section currently under repair, in the direction of Romania This measure is valid until January 8, 2026, period during which the works will be suspended, to allow smooth and safe transit in the context of the winter holidays”, ITPF Giurgiu spokeswoman Livia Filimon said on Thursday for Agerpres.
Until December 18, traffic on the Friendship Bridge was directed alternately, with traffic lights, due to the rehabilitation works carried out by the Bulgarian side.
The works will be resumed, starting from January 8, 2026, on the direction of travel towards Bulgaria.
