Tragedy in handball: Iryna Glibko, the Ukrainian who arrived in Romania in 2012, died

Terrible news from the world of sports is flowing! Christoph Daum (70), Sven-Goran Eriksson (75) and Juan Izquierdo (27) died in the last few days alone. If these people were connected to the world of football, now there is a shocking news about the death of Iryna Glibko, a handball player of only 34 years.

Good night, Ira

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of an exceptional athlete, Iryna Glibko. A true leader on the field and a special soul off it, Iryna exemplified dedication, passion and professionalism to all who interacted with her. By her way of being, but also by her dedication, she left an indelible mark in the memories of all those who had the privilege of knowing her or working with her.

Sport Club Municipal Râmnicu Vâlcea is deeply grateful for all the moments when Iryna was with us, for every goal scored and for every smile brought to the faces of the red-blue supporters. Her loss leaves a huge void in our hearts, but also in the handball community.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family and all her loved ones during this difficult time.

Iryna, you will always remain in our hearts.
