The National Broadcasting Council (CNA) fined Romania TV with two fines after the verbal slips of one of the guests, Dumitru Pelican, during a show, but also for other violations of the law.
Romania TV was sanctioned by CNA after the nervous exit of one of the guests, Dumitru Pelican, at the address of USR and a PNL representative.
“Fine of 5,000 lei to Romania TV station for the show “Romania exclusiv” dated 21.02.2026, broadcast without complying with the provisions of article 43 paragraph (5) of the Audiovisual Content Regulation Code, according to which “Moderators, presenters and producers of the programs have the obligation not to use and not allow guests to use insulting language or to incite violence”. Among the statements. to the guest Dumitru Pelican: “Well, Ilie Sărăcie, well, you are the most embarrassing politician that Romania has had! Romania hates you, everyone hates you! Go, me, spinning where the mare takes you! That’s where you end up, Ilie Sărăcie! (): I loathe him, lady! And the Romanians hate him, lady! It’s pathetic. It brought us genocide. () Bye, traitors to the country and nation! Come on, you bastards! Well, French agents, Coldea’s men, shoot yourselves because the Romanians will eat you, well!”, the CNA sanction states.
Romania TV was also fined 10,000 lei for non-compliance with the provisions of art. 82 para. (1) lit. b) and 84 of the Audiovisual Code, when broadcasting the editions of 21.01.2026 and 22.01.2026 of the show “Punctul Culminant”.
“Titles displayed: “Bombshell revelations from the committee to seize justice“; “The infiltrated man resists making the laws of justice”; “Does Bolojan bribe the families of judges with positions?”; “The explosive document: state money goes to propagandists, with how much propaganda is paid to attack and destabilize”. Among the statements of the moderator: “() I present to you a surprising list that reveals how beneficial it is to have an association in Romania and how much money they can make only from income tax. Those 3.5% redirected by the Romanians through the care of the village. () According to this list, the amounts that have reached associations and foundations only from the income tax from 2024 are impressive. Among the names on the list we find media institutions, as well as well-known resist propaganda offices“, the CNA sanction also states.
In the same meeting, noting the violation of the provisions of art. 3 paragraph (2) from the Audiovisual Law no. 504/2002, as well as the provisions of art. 43 para. (5) of the Audiovisual Code, the Council decided to issue decisions regarding the order to act against illegal content for materials posted and redistributed on the big platforms from Cristian Rizea’s accounts (eg spovedanialuirizea, RizeaTV). The audiovisual materials are contained in a series of reports drawn up by the specialized departments as a result of the Council’s self-referral.
