If in the European parliamentary elections on June 9 the parties that make up the United Right Alliance have already established their common candidates with whom they will appear at the polls, a great unknown is at the county level for the local elections that take place on the same date.
Not everywhere in the country are there agreements for joint lists, and even in many localities the USR, Forța Dreptei and PMP candidates will run separately.
Vrancea seems to have overcome this obstacle, after the leaders of the three parties came to the conclusion that they must go together in the elections, following the negotiations held in the last few days. Therefore, the United Right Alliance will present candidates on joint lists to both the Vrancea County Council and the Focșani City Hall.
“The white smoke came out, following the negotiations. Forța Dreptei will have candidates for the positions of president of the Vrancea County Council and mayor of Focșani, and USR will have the first candidates for the lists from the County Council and the Focșani Local Council. PMP will also have eligible positions at the two structures”Ion Ștefan, deputy of the Vrancea Law Force, told us.

For his part, the president of USR Vrancea confirmed to us that the negotiations have been completed and that the document has been sent for approval to the higher forums in Bucharest. “The decision will be taken at the center”Ionuț Carabă, the interim president of USR Vrancea, told us, without giving us any additional details.

It should be noted that the president of USR Focșani, Corina Atanasiu, is running for an eligible seat for the European Parliament.
The main political forces in Vrancea, PNL and PSD, will run separately in the local elections. At the County Council, from the PNL side, Dragoș Ciobotaru, the current mayor of Vizantea Livezi commune, will run for the post of president, and from the PSD Nicușor Halici, PSD Vrancea president and current prefect.
In the Focșani City Hall, the incumbent mayor Cristi Misăilă wants to get a new mandate from the PSD, and from the PNL the businessman Valentin Resmeriță, who recently became the president of the PNL Focșani.
