The film covers over seven decades of the extraordinary life of the legendary classical music conductor Sergiu Celibidache, one of the most famous musicians of the 20th century.

The film “yellow tie” is a production with Romanian funding, made by a team of over 300 professionals.
He was filmed in full in Romania, with the support of five national orchestras, who recreated the historical concerts of Celibidache in Philadelphia, Buenos Aires, Venice, Bucharest and Berlin.
“I think this film will attract people who want to create something, people who go on their own path and who are willing to persevere to do things as they think it is appropriate.” says actor John Malkovich.
The film follows the conductor’s life, from his childhood in Romania, under the strict authority of a disciplinary father, until the painful escape from home, to follow his dream of a career in music. The struggle for survival in Germany, during the war and after that, the fall and ascent in a career and a life covering seven decades and all four corners of the globe, writes Urban.
“This project is the fulfillment of a dream of a lifetime. It is not about the seven years in which I made this film, but about the 50 years in which I wore this story in me, with the hope that we will be able to discover the trajectory of a Romanian boy who spread his genius throughout the world.says Serge Ioan Celebidachi, the director of the film, the son of the great conductor.
Serge says that the choice of John Malkovich to interpret his father was related above all to the need to have an actor with a vast culture, well known internationally and to be familiar with the subject. “Apart from the fact that he has experience in theater, John confirmed to me that he was a great admirer of my father and that he would very much like to accept this challenge. I was excited and delighted by John Malkovich’s enthusiasm ”, the son of the great conductor told the truth.
The yellow tie film will premiere in cinemas across the country in November this year.
