Actor Sam Neill, known throughout the world for the role of Dr. Alan Grant in the famous series “Jurassic Park”, died at the age of 78. The announcement was made by his family, who stated that the actor died in Australia, at a hospital in Sydney.
The death was unexpected, especially as Sam Neill was in remission from cancer treatment.
In a message published on the actor’s official accounts, the family said that Sam Neill died on Monday, July 13, surrounded by those close to him.
His relatives stated that the actor was no longer suffering from cancer and thanked the medical staff for the care provided. At the same time, the family asked for privacy to be respected during this period of mourning.

Sam Neill became an iconic name in world cinema in 1993, with the performance of the character Dr. Alan Grant in the film “Jurassic Park”, directed by Steven Spielberg.
The film revolutionized the special effects industry and became one of the most successful film productions in history.
The actor reprized his role in “Jurassic Park III,” released in 2001, and more than two decades later returned to the universe of the franchise in “Jurassic World Dominion” alongside members of the original cast.
