Former presidential candidate Călin Georgescu claims that Nicușor Dan forced cancellation of the first round of voting for the head of state and that the current president was prepared, since then, to enter the race for Cotroceni.
Georgescu accuses Nicușor Dan of having tried, at that time, to use state institutions against him because he seemed unstoppable in the presidential final, according to realitatea.net.
“I also saw, as you also saw, that Nicușor Dan says all over Europe and wherever he is given a microphone that he has some suspicions about me. I only have certainties about him“, declared Georgescu.

The former presidential candidate explained:
“I mean, on the night of December 24, he appeared on a TV station, when he was mayor, and asked the institutions of the secret services, which were positive about the elections, to be investigated. This clearly proves that this boy was beating the cadence, suspicious of the military“.
Georgescu believes that the president avoids making transparent the transcripts of the CSAT meeting, “because he would leave the next day”.
Nicușor recently stated that he has information regarding the collaboration between Călin Georgescu and Horațiu Potra and that he received full reports on the events that took place on the evening of the cancellation of the elections and in the following days, during which Potra would have been in the country. He stressed that these data should be presented in a unified way, not fragmented by various state institutions, and promised that they would be made public “as soon as possible”.
Moreover, the President of Romania also presented to the leaders at the meeting of the European Political Community in Copenhagen the material of the Prosecutor General regarding the Russian disinformation in the presidential elections of 2024.
