The National Authority for Consumer Protection has carried out controls in several Profi, Lidl and Mega Image stores in the Capital, where they found several irregularities.

“On 27.05.2025, from the disposition and under the coordination of the President of the National Authority for Consumer Protection, Mr. Cristian Popescu Piedone, the commissioners within the Commissariat for Consumer Protection of Sector 3 carried out a series of thematic and operative controls within the territorial competence of the Commissioner”the institution transmitted.
According to the quoted source, in one of the inspected stores it was found that a price was displayed on the shelf, and at the cash register was a larger one, at the same product.
“Incorrect commercial practices have been identified, consisting of the difference between the price displayed on the shelf and the one practiced at the cash registers, regarding the economic operator Mega Image SRL. Thus, the incorrect commercial practice provided by Law no. Consumers, and in this situation the operator will be sanctioned with a fine in the amount of 50,000 lei ”the source says.

The ANPC also gave fines and warnings and withdrew products from sale, after finding deviations.
“During the controls, 14 economic operators were verified, being drawn up 8 minutes of finding the contravention, 5 invitations and 1 report of finding. A number of 9 contraventional sanctions worth 41,000 lei and 2 warnings were applied.the authority states.

For one of the economic operators you verified (SC Angel Car Wash SRL with headquarters in the SOS Mihai Bravu no 529) was carried out interinstitutional operative control in collaboration with workers of the structures within SICE, RAR, ITM and the Environmental Guard, according to ANPC.
