The incident happened on November 19 in Thailand, while the contestant was wearing a bright orange dress and high heels.

28-year-old doctor and lawyer Gabrielle Henry suddenly fell off the stage, as can be seen in the video posted on social media

The accident caused Henry to miss the Miss Universe pageant on Thursday, November 20, according to people.

According to a statement from the Miss Universe Jamaica Organization, the contestant’s sister, Dr. Phylicia Henry-Samuels, and her mother, Maureen Henry, are in Thailand with Gabrielle.

“Gabby is not doing as well as we would have liked, but the hospital continues to treat her appropriately,” Dr. Henry-Samuels relayed.

Doctors have determined that Gabrielle will remain in intensive care for at least seven days, for monitoring and specialized care.

The Miss Universe Jamaica organization asked the public and social media users to avoid negative comments or speculation that could cause stress to the family and to continue to support Gabrielle “in prayers, love and hope.”

Shortly after the incident, Gabrielle was taken to Paolo Rangsit Hospital in Thailand.

According to the organization, she does not have life-threatening injuries, and Raul Rocha, the owner of Miss Universe, said he visited her and that “he has no broken bones” and there it is “under quality care”.
