Filming that lit social networks
It all happened during a Coldplay concert, when the rooms surprised a man with gray hair hugging a woman, later identify as the CEO Andy Byron and Chief People Officer Astronomer, Kristin Cabot. After the appearance on the huge screen, the two immediately retreated from the frame, covering their faces, visibly embarrassed. The reaction of the Coldplay soloist, Chris Martin, was suggestive: “Oh what’s this? Either they have an adventure, or they are very shy! ”joked Martin, then completing: “I hope I didn’t do anything wrong.“
The public immediately began to investigate. Soon it was found that Byron is married, but not with a cabot.
The company in the center of a scandal
Astronomer, the company founded by Byron, is a private startup in the field of data infrastructure, evaluated at over $ 1.3 billion. Both, by both Byron and Cabot, hold management positions in the company.
According to the LinkedIn profile (now deleted), Byron is a graduate of Providence College in Rhode Island and has over 20 years of experience in technology. It was described as “An inspirational professional, motivated and with experience in sales.”
In a press release before the scandal, Byron praises the cabot:
“At Astronomer, people are the most valuable active. Kristin’s exceptional leadership and her talent management expertise will be essential for our accelerated path.”

Byron and Cabot
In turn, Cabot declared in November 2024: “I was energized by the conversations with Andy throughout the recruitment process. I like to think of my role rather as a strategy of people than as a traditional HR ”.
Byron’s wife closed her social media accounts
After the wave of reactions online, Andy Byron’s wife’s Facebook account, Kerrigan Byron, was identified by Internet users. While some sent them support messages, others made mocking comments. Finally, Kerrigan completely closed her account, while her husband disappeared from LinkedIn, according to the US Magazine.
Fake, viral apologies on the Internet
Shortly after the incident, several posts began to circulate on social networks that demanded statements of apology from Byron. One of them, published by an account on the X platform (former Twitter), who claimed to be a CBS reporter, sounded like: “What was to be a night of music and joy turned into a deeply personal mistake, spent on an extremely public stage. (…) This is not the man who I want to be or the image I want to project for the company I contributed to build. I take time to reflect, assume responsibility and set the next steps. ”

The false post, which even included a quote from the fix you song of the Coldplay band – “Lights Will Guide You Home, and Ignite Your Bones, and I Will Try to Fix You “gathered over 630,000 views in just five hours.

Later, Astronomer confirmed that that statement is not authentic. Taylor Jones, the company’s communication director, told Men’s Journal: “This is not a real statement. ”
Jokes and speculation online
Internet users rushed to comment on the incident. Some said that the moment would not have had so much impact if the two had smiled and stayed on the room. Others have ironized that the passion for Coldplay could have ruined their marriages.
“If they had smiled and were quiet, the moment would not have become viral“, A user wrote.”Their spouses would have left them anyway when they found out they were Coldplay fans”, Joke another.
The official reaction is late
Until July 18, 2025, Andy Byron made no official public statement. In the absence of a clear point of view, online speculation and jokes continue to multiply. Meanwhile, the personal and professional reputation of the CEO is shaking due to a moment of just seconds surprised on an unexpected stage, “Kiss Cam” to a Coldplay concert.
