“I don’t want to be in the situation where, as another candidate admitted yesterday, he needs to take meditations on the economy, meditations on the English language, tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, meditations on foreign policy. That if you are correct in several subjects, I know that in the old days, when you were correct in several subjects, you also remained repetitive. I will be a one hundred percent active and involved president from the first day to the last day of my mandate”said Mircea Geoană, at Știrile Pro TV.
According to the cited source, Prime Minister Ciolacu revealed that he took meditations on fiscal and macro-economic policies from the first vice-governor of the BNR, Florin Georgescu, and from the president of the Supervisory Board of the Romanian Counter-Guarantee Fund, Cristian Socol.
Geoana also spoke about his relationship with PSDstating that he had the courage to face “Ion Iliescu in the PSD congress, in the most democratic and probably discussed congress in the post-December history of this country”.
“When I look at those who now lead the important parties in Romania, I see that they are running alone, they have no counter-candidates, and in the case of another party, the president comes and imposes the president in a party congress. I will never do this with the parties, let them choose their leaders”Geoana also said.
