Video Grammy 2026: Bad Bunny and Kendrick Lamar, the big winners of the gala. Historical records and messages with strong social impact in Los Angeles

The 68th edition of the Grammy Awards, held Sunday night in Los Angeles, was marked by historic records, emotional moments and messages with strong social impact. Bad Bunny and Kendrick Lamar were the big winners of the gala, dominating the main music categories.

The trophy for Album of the Year was won by Bad Bunny, with “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS”, the artist thus becoming the first Spanish-language performer to obtain this distinction in the history of the Grammy Awards. He beat out artists like Justin Bieber, Sabrina Carpenter, Kendrick Lamar, Tyler, the Creator and Pusha T.

Visibly emotional, Bad Bunny dedicated the award to people who lost a loved one but had to move on, also addressing a message to the Latin American community and artists who, according to him, deserved to be on the Grammy stage.

“To all the people who lost a loved one and still had to move on and carry on with great strength, this award is for you. Thank you for so much love, I love you. To all the Latin Americans around the world and to all the artists who came before and who should have been on this stage to receive this award, thank you very much.” said the Puerto Rican artist.

The artist also attracted attention with a political message, when he received the award for the Best Urban Music Album, declaring: “ICE OUT” and “we are not savages, we are not animals, we are not aliens. The only thing stronger than hate is love.”

The most awarded hip-hop artist of all time

For his part, Kendrick Lamar made history by becoming the most awarded hip-hop artist of all time at the Grammys. The rapper took home several trophies, including Best Rap Album (“GNX”), Best Rap Song (“TV Off”), Best Melodic Rap Performance (“Luther” with SZA) and Best Rap Performance for his collaboration with Clipse. Thus, Kendrick Lamar reached a total of 26 Grammy awards, surpassing Jay-Z and Kanye West.

“It’s hip-hop as usual. I’m not good at talking about myself, but I express myself through music. It’s an honor to be here. …Hip-hop will always be here. We’ll be dressed in these fancy costumes, accompanied by our friends. We’ll have the culture with us. So I appreciate you all. Praise God. I love you all!” Kendrick Lamar said on stage.

Other big winners of the night included Billie Eilish, who took home Song of the Year with “Wildflower”, Lady Gaga, Best Pop Vocal Album (“Mayhem”) and Best Dance/Pop Recording, but also Olivia Dean, nominated for Best New Artist.

The 2026 Grammy Awards took place in Los Angeles, was broadcast by CBS and Paramount+ and was hosted for the sixth year in a row by actor and TV host Trevor Noah.
