Pop star Justin Timberlake pleaded guilty Friday, Sept. 13, to a misdemeanor count of driving while impaired to resolve his DUI case in the Hamptons, according to abcnews.
Justin Timberlake has apologized for his behavior.
“Many of you have probably followed me for a large part of my life …. I try to hold myself to a very high standard – and this was not the case. I was in a position where I could have made a different decision. But I’ve had some time to think about it. What I’d like to say to everyone watching and listening: Even if you’ve had a drink, don’t get behind the wheel of a car. There are so many alternatives. Call a friend, take an Uber”Timberlake said.
What a punishment he received
Timberlake appeared in court in Sag Harbor Village on Friday. The judge ordered him to pay a fine and do community service.
Timberlake also agreed to appear in a public service announcement about the dangers of drunk driving.
“This is a mistake I made, but I hope anyone watching and listening right now can learn from this mistake. I know I’ve definitely learned,” he said Timberlake.
