Sophie Grégoire, the ex-wife of Justin Trudeau, has spoken about how she handles the public attention surrounding the relationship between the former Canadian prime minister and singer Katy Perry, stressing that she prefers to remain level-headed and own her own emotions.

A guest on the “Arlene is Alone” podcast, Sophie Grégoire was asked about the intense publicity generated by her ex-husband’s relationship with the artist Katy Perry. Host Arlene Dickinson noted how “calm” remains Grégoire in front of all the comments, and she answered honestly.
“You know, we are human beings and things affect us. It’s normal” said Sophie Grégoire. “How you react to things is your decision. So, I choose to listen to music instead of noise“, she confessed, quoted by News.ro.
Grégoire and Justin Trudeau announced their separation in August 2023. The two married in 2005 and have three children together: Xavier, Ella-Grace and Hadrien.
On the public relationship between Trudeau and Perry
Justin Trudeau’s relationship with Katy Perry has attracted attention since September, when the first photos of the two appeared in an apparent embrace. The couple publicly confirmed the relationship after being snapped holding hands at the Crazy Horse cabaret in Paris around the singer’s birthday in October.
Sophie Grégoire says she is aware of the impact such moments can have on public opinion and on her own life.
