The actor Keanu Reeves took to the stage of the Electric Castle festival on Sunday evening, July 19, with his rock band, Dogstar, offering one of the most anticipated moments of the edition.
Starting from Thursday, July 16, at the Bánffy Castle in Bonțida, Cluj county, the Electric Castle 2026 festival took place. Among the most important names that took the stage this year are The Cure, Twenty One Pilots and Teddy Swims.
Sunday, July 19, the last day of the festival, Oddisee & Good Company, Vița de Vie, Wet Leg, Dogstar and The cure took the stage.
Dogstar was formed in the early 90s in Los Angeles after Keanu Reeves and musician Robert Mailhouse met by chance and decided to play together. After releasing two albums in the 90s and early 2000s, the band went on hiatus for nearly two decades, returning in 2023 with a new album and international tour.
The appearance of the Hollywood star was one of the big surprises of this year’s edition, and the atmosphere created during the concert turned Sunday evening into a memorable moment for the audience.
Keanu Reeves took the stage without any fireworks or grand introduction moments. The actor focused exclusively on music, playing bass with his colleagues in Dogstar, a rock group that resumed its activity after a long break.
The audience greeted him enthusiastically from the first moments, and every appearance of the actor on the huge screens of the festival was accompanied by applause and shouts of joy.
The presence of Keanu Reeves at Electric Castle has been intensely commented since the moment when the organizers announced that Dogstar will be part of the festival line-up.
For many of the participants, the concert represented a rare opportunity to see the famous actor in a pose different from the one they were used to on the big screens.
