Laszlo Tokes, the president of the Hungarian National Council of Transylvania, said, during his Saturday speech, from Băile Tușnad, that “Transylvania must remain under Romanian rule, but under Hungarian autonomy.”

“Transylvania must remain under Romanian rule, but under Hungarian autonomy. There must be a law of minorities. The third subject on the agenda of the Romanian -Hungarian dialogue is administrative reform.”said Laszlo Tokes, demanding “rights and autonomy for lost Transylvanian territories.”
The RMDSZ member added that “We do not have to make compromises or be hostile, but rather to engage in an open dialog, negotiate and reach an agreement, which will be an extraordinary challenge”.
According to Antena 3, in 2024, the Deputy Prime Minister of Hungary, Semjen Zsolt, also said at Băile Tuşnad, that it is in the interest of both Romanians and Hungarians to have a close cooperation between the two countries, pointing out that he had never anti -Romanian feelings.
He added that the Hungarian government “He never asked successor states something that would not provide minorities living in Hungary ”therefore they want them to provide the same rights to the Hungarians living on their territories.
Also, last year, Laszlo Tokes said that Hungarians from Transylvania have become among the endangered ethnic groups of Europe and can stop the continuation of the decline only by acquiring community rights.
Viktor Orban supported his traditional speech in Tuşnad, starting from this year’s motto of the Summer University which is “You can count on us!”
The 34th edition of the “Tusvanyos” Summer University brought, to Băile Tuşnad, many members of the Budapest government, as well as UDMR leaders, MEPs, parliamentarians and elected union, representatives of the Hungarians outside the borders, intellectuals, people of culture or the Romanian activists, during the Romanian activity, extremely low.
