Tourists who chose to spend their May 1 holiday on the Romanian coast had parties that lasted all night, despite the capricious weather.
The low temperatures did not scare the tourists of Vama Veche, who chose to warm themselves by bonfires made on the beach. The young people huddled together and sang together around the flames.
“We don’t take anything into account, we have fun, I wanted to feel the Customs experience, it’s the first time I come to the Customs”one man told Observer News.
The clubs did not lack people either. Those who did not want to face the cold sea breeze chose to hang out in the resort’s restaurants.
“Nothing compares to Vama”said a partygoer.
Luxury parties in Mamaia
The parties were also in full swing in Mamaia, where the clubs competed in real shows with fireworks and staged moments. Tourists had at their disposal carts of champagne, the cheapest costing 3,000 lei, while bottles of wine could reach 6,000 lei.
“Money is my last problem. I went to Nuba, now I’m going to Loft. It’s important to feel good. My knee sprained, I’ve been like this for a month and a half. I dance on one leg”said a man.
The hosts competed in traditional dishes.
“We have a special dish, rivenal soup. I think I’ve sold about 200 portions so far. We also have sarmale soup, we recommend it to people who drank a lot tonight”said David Mihăilescu, restaurant administrator, for Observator.
Some owners quickly adapted and set up more enclosed spaces, protected from the wind, so that the atmosphere remained warm, even if the temperatures outside dropped.
For their part, the police have established strict filters to ensure that those who come to have fun do not drive drunk or drugged.
Parties at the edge of Galațiu
The most popular seaside resorts were not the only ones to receive tourists. Those who did not manage to reach the seaside partied near the Danube, where a spectacular party, with a carnival accent, brought good cheer to the edge of Galați.
“We have a campfire, we have the Danube. Everything is superlative” said a woman.
