Mihai Bendeac sent a message on social networks after his moment at the anniversary gala dedicated to Florin Piersic, organized at the National Theater in Bucharest, on the occasion of the great actor’s 90th birthday.
Florin Piersic was celebrated on January 26, the day before the official anniversary, at the Florin Piersic 90 Anniversary Gala, where stage colleagues, friends and fans joined him. Among those who took the stage were Marius Florea Vizante, Claudiu Bleonț, Medeea Marinescu, George Ivașcu and Mihai Bendeac.
The latter provided one of the most commented moments of the evening. Dressed in Mărgelatu and riding a horse, Mihai Bendeac appeared on the stage of the National Theatre, but the moment became unique from the beginning, after the animal behaved “like in the stable”, to the amusement of the audience, but also to the discomfort of some of those present.
After the event, there were speculations in the public space that the whole moment was staged. Mihai Bendeac reacted on Facebook, rejecting this idea and mocking the hypothesis.
“I understand that there are citizens who believe that what happened last night was staged. I’m curious, however, how exactly do they think the stage was staged? Beyond that… Happy birthday, Florin Piersic! Thank you, craftsman, for all the joy brought to people! Farewell”, the actor wrote.
Emotional statements on stage
Mihai Bendeac’s moment caused laughter both in the hall and on the stage. The actor made several jokes, and towards the end he got off his horse and kissed Florin Piersic’s hand, giving him an emotional speech.
“I don’t think there are any charts for actors who are bigger or better professionally, but I think we can think about which actor is the most loved.” said Bendeac.
He confessed that Florin Piersic’s relationship with the public was a model for him.
“For as long as I have been in this world and in this profession, I have looked up to you as God, and the relationship you have developed with the public seems absolutely unique to me. I will never be so loved.” said Bendeac.
The anniversary gala was a tribute to the impressive career of Florin Piersic, one of the most beloved Romanian actors, and Mihai Bendeac’s moment remained among the most discussed episodes of the evening.
