Welsh actor Owain Rhys Davies, known for his role in the cult series “Twin Peaks: The Return”, has died at the age of 44. The news was confirmed by the family, who said that the death occurred suddenly.
“It is with deep sadness that my father and I announce that my brother Owain has passed away. This news will come as a shock to many. The impact of Owain’s love, friendship and generosity was immense,” it is shown in the family statement.
The actor’s brother, Rhodri, stated that there are some “questions” in relation to the circumstances of the death, but the family believes that it occurred “suddenly, from natural causes and peacefully”.
Born on February 20, 1982 in Cardiff, Wales, Owain Rhys Davies has had an active career in both theatre, film and television, euronews writes.
He has collaborated with the Royal National Theater and appeared in West End productions including ‘Mamma Mia!’ and “The Wizard of Oz”, but also in shows such as “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” and “Under Milk Wood”.
Internationally, the actor became known for appearing in the series “The OA” with Brit Marling and Jason Isaacs, as well as in “Twin Peaks: The Return”, created by David Lynch and Mark Frost, where he played an FBI agent.
He also had roles in the Disney film ‘Alice Through the Looking Glass’ (2016), the TV series ‘My Dead Ex’ and the horror comedy ‘A Serial Killer’s Guide to Life’ (2019).
The actor had completed shooting for two projects in post-production, ‘Jeff the Killer’ and ‘La Fantasia’.
