The works in section 4 of the Sibiu-Pitesti highway may be completed much earlier if the current pace is preserved.

The Minister of Transport, Sorin Grindeanu, shared on Tiktok images about the rhythm of work in the construction of the Sibiu-Pitești highway, section 4.

Section 4 of the Sibiu-Piteşti highway (A1), has a length of 9.86 km and a contract for completion year 2027. At the current pace, however, it is very possible that the works will be completed much earlier.

The National Road Infrastructure Management Company (CNAIR) signed in 2021 with the company Porr Construct for the design and execution of section 4 of the Sibiu – Pitesti highway, worth almost 1.679 billion lei, excluding VAT.

In total, 85% of the total financing for the Sibiu-Pitesti highway is provided from non-reimbursable European funds.
