There were two candidates in the race for the post of president: the current boss, Răzvan Burleanu, who was the favorite to win the fourth term, and Ilie Drăgan, the founder and president of the 3 Kids Sport club. Both are 41 years old. Burleanu clearly prevailed. Out of the total of 264 votes cast, the Bacauan obtained 258, Ilie Drăgan 5, and one vote was cancelled.

If in the 2018 elections he said about the defeated rivals (Lupescu, Lucescu and Chivu) that “they were beaten”, Burleanu also offended his opponent yesterday, after the announcement of the result: “Thank you so much for all your support and trust. This vote shows everyone’s readiness in how we want to build the future in the coming years and achieve our strategic goals. Only through this cooperation will we be able to achieve our goals. UPDATE The process by which the vote for the position of FRF president will be made, which is secret, was presented, with each member receiving a ballot. Towards the end of the explanations, a scandal also broke out, amid the dissatisfaction of Burleanu’s counter-candidate, Ilie Drăgan, who was upstairs.
Someone proposed to go directly to the vote, without a speech. Dragan got angry. Then, being upstairs, he claimed that the votes could be seen from there and asked that the vote be secret, noting that there should have been a room upstairs as well, in the form of a voting booth.
Ilie Drăgan appealed to the CAS to reject Burleanu’s candidacy and suspend the elections, accusing him of violating the regulation that provides for only three mandates. The CAS initially rejected his claim, and the elections will take place as originally set, with their result subsequently analyzed in Laussane. Also on Wednesday there will be elections for other key positions in the FRF. Big favorite, Burleanu would win his fourth term, after those of 2014/2018, 2018/2022 and 2022/2026.
Mititelu made an impression
Traditional opponent of the FRF, Adrian Mititelu (58 years old) presented himself on Wednesday morning at the headquarters of the FRF to take part in the presidential elections. The boss from FCU Craiova attracted attention in front of the FRF headquarters with his appearance. Adrian Mititelu appeared at the General Assembly in an elegant gray suit. The man with the money from FCU Craiova opted for a jacket with a slim fit cut to which he matched a pair of pants with a narrow cut as well. To the gray suit with which he attracted attention, Adrian Mititelu completed everything with a pair of brown leather shoes. The outfit chosen by Adrian Mititelu in the FRF elections slightly exceeds the sum of 1,000 euros, according to specialized websites. In addition to Adrian Mititelu, other well-known names from the world of Romanian football made an appearance at the FRF headquarters. Florin Gardoș, Dani Coman, Vali Badea, Iuliu Mureșan, Valeriu Argăseală, Ionel Danciulescu, Gino Iorgulescu, Kyros Vassaras also participate in the General Assembly.
