The roles that brought the two nominations to Sebastian Stan are that of Donald Trump, in the controversial film “The Apprentice”, and that of Edward, in the film “A Different Man”, this year bringing him the Bear of Silver at the Berlinale. Immediately after learning the news, the actor born in Constanța told “Vanity Fair”: “It’s unreal. I’m still shaking. I woke up around 4 in the morning and said ok, another hour and a half. I went back to sleep, and then my publicist called me. Since then I sent a bunch of pictures to my mother”.

The action of the film “The Apprentice” is set during the 70s and 80s, when Trump, played by Sebastian Stan, was starting to make a name for himself as a businessman in New York. The film focuses on Trump’s relationship with lawyer and mentor Roy Cohn (played by “Succession’s” Jeremy Strong), who instilled in Trump certain values, such as never admitting defeat.
