A family consisting of two adults and a minor was denied boarding at Henri Coandă airport after the adults became verbally aggressive towards the staff of the airline they were going to fly with.
The incident took place at PTF Henri Coandă Airport, at the boarding gate for a flight to London, the Border Police said in a statement. According to the authorities, the family was turned away by the captain of the aircraft due to aggressive behavior.
Upon the arrival of the border guards, the two adults continued to be aggressive and attempted to obstruct the closing operations of the aircraft, blocking access and disturbing public order.
Because the man behaved violently and did not comply with legal requests, he was removed from the aircraft. The two continued the ruckus outside and even started filming as they argued with the airline staff. The images later appeared in the public space.
The minor remained permanently in the presence of his mother, the border police having in mind the protection of the two persons. In this case, contraventional sanctions were applied, according to the Air Code, the Border Police informed.

According to the cited source, recently, at the level of international airports, there are more and more situations in which passengers show inappropriate behavior towards the airline staff or towards other passengers, a fact that determines, in some cases, the refusal of boarding by the aircraft commander, in accordance with his legal duties.
“In such situations, the border police intervene to restore order and to ensure the safe conduct of airport activities, contraventional sanctions being applied according to the legal provisions”the release states.
Since the beginning of the year, the border police officers at the Henri Coandă International Airport have applied 21 contraventional sanctions, worth 84,000 lei, for violating the provisions of the Air Code, in the sense that the sanctioned passengers committed acts of physical or verbal violence against other people in the airport perimeter.
On Friday, border police officers from PTF Henri Coandă Airport intervened on Friday, February 20, to support a mother whose child got lost in the airport. The minor was identified shortly, near the access area to the public space, being safe and handed over to his mother.
