The American singer Tito Jackson, member of The Jackson 5 and one of the brothers of the famous Michael Jackson, died at the age of 70, the artist’s sons announced on Sunday evening, AFP reports, according to Agerpres.

“It is with a heavy heart that we announce that our beloved father, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Tito Jackson, has left us“, the children of the American singer and guitarist, Taj, Taryll and TJ, who make up the band 3T, sent on Instagram.
“We are shocked, saddened and heartbroken. Our father was an incredible man who cared about everyone. Please remember what our father preached, namely: “Love one another”. We love you, Dad. Your boys Taj, Taryll and TJ”they also transmitted.
A family friend, Steve Manning, told “Entertainment Tonight” that the brother of legendary Michael Jackson may have died of a heart attack Sunday while driving from New Mexico to his home in Oklahoma.
Tito Jackson has recently performed in Germany, the United Kingdom, but also in the American state of California with two of his brothers, Marlon and Jackie.
The American singer has been a member of The Jackson 5 since its inception, along with his three brothers – Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon and Michael.
Tito Jackson topped the Billboard charts
After signing to Motown Records in 1969, the band enjoyed worldwide success with hits such as “I Want You Back”, “ABC”, and “I’ll Be There”.
Michael Jackson truly found success after leaving The Jackson 5 and devoting his full attention to building a solo career. The singer died 15 years ago at the age of 50.
In 1997, Tito Jackson was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame at an event during which the singer was introduced by Motown Records legend Diana Ross.
Eight years ago, the American singer was the last of the Jackson brothers to hit the Billboard charts with a solo track, the single ‘Get It Baby’, following his first solo album, ‘Tito Time’.
His second solo album was “Under Your Spell” and was released three years ago, featuring collaborations with several artists such as George Benson, Bobby Rush and Stevie Wonder.
Tito Jackson’s ex-wife, Delores, who also gave him his three children, died in 1994.
