We are looking for a deputy attorney general. When will the contest take place?

The Ministry of Justice put out a competition on Monday, September 16, for the post of first deputy general prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice.

“The appointment procedure for the mentioned position is provided by art. 144 para. (1) from Law no. 303/2022: “they are appointed by the President of Romania, on the proposal of the Minister of Justice, with the approval of the Section for Prosecutors of the Superior Council of the Magistracy, from among the prosecutors who have a minimum of 15 years of experience as a prosecutor or judge, for a period of 3 years , with the possibility of reinvestment only once, in the same way »”, the press release of the Ministry of Justice states.

Here is the estimated schedule:

16.09.2024 – posting of the selection notice on the website of the Ministry of Justice;

29.10.2024, 12:00 p.m. – the deadline for submitting applications for participation in the selection;

29.10.2024, 1:00 p.m. – the beginning of the verification, by the Ministry of Justice, of the fulfillment by the registered candidates of the conditions provided by law for participation in the selection;

31.10.2024 – displaying the list of prosecutors who meet the conditions for participation in the selection, as well as the scheduling of interviews;

01.11.2024 – the start, by the interview commission, of the analysis and evaluation of the documentation submitted by the candidates;

06.11.2024 – 08.11.2024 – holding the interview in front of the interview committee;

11.11.2024 – displaying the result of the selection made by the Minister of Justice;

11.11.2024 – transmission of the result to the Prosecutors’ Section of the CSM, in order to issue the reasoned advisory opinion.
