President Nicuşor Dan and other Romanian officials sent messages on Saturday marking the 145th anniversary of diplomatic relations with the US.

On June 14, 2025, Romania and the United States celebrate 145 years since establishing diplomatic relations. Over time, the Romanian-American relationship has expanded and consolidated on multiple levels, from political and military collaboration, to economic and energy partnerships that currently define the strategic partnership between the two states, according to a statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs quoted by Agerpres.
The representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recall that Romania plays an essential role in the Euro-Atlantic Security architecture, being a predictable and reliable partner and that the context of preparations for the NATO Summit in The Hague, Romanian-American cooperation remains an essential pillar for strengthening the alliance and for the common response to current security challenges.
And the President of Romania, Nicuşor Dan, wanted to mark this moment, by a message posted on the X platform.
“Today we celebrate 145 years of diplomatic relations with our near ally, USA.
As we reflect on this trip, we celebrate not only the many landmarks of our cooperation, but also the spirit of friendship that has evolved into a solid strategic partnership.
We are ready to work with President Trump to achieve the whole potential of our partnership“, Nicuşor Dan said.
