What chances have the new political constructions in front of the big PSD or PNL parties. A local leader is detached from liberals

The head of the Cluj County Council, Alin Tișe, announces the establishment of a new right -wing formation, leaving the PNL, at least a courageous approach considering the experience of its predecessors. So far, except for initiatives seen as an alternative, who have been in opposition, all other formations have died. The conditions under which a new formation can survive are complicated, analysts believe.

The chances of a new party that will be asserted in Romania are low. At the moment, the parties are the institutions with the lowest trust in Romania, and the history of recent years show us that such newly established constructions have little chance of success in front of the Mainstream formations, mainly represented by the big PNL and PSD parties. Either they are given to forget or are absorbed.

What chances do new parties have

There are also some cases of success. Some asserted themselves as an alternative and managed to break the threshold of Parliament, the most important condition of success. The best case is the USR, which first took place in Parliament in the legislature started in 2016. With members of the former Cioloș government, the party remained in opposition years in a row, but managed to enter the government in two occasions.

Also here is the gold situation, which gave one of the two finalists of the presidential elections in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In fact, the construction of the political formation is made around the party president George Simion, and this is also the recipe for affirmation, explains the sociologist Vladimir Ionaș for “Adevărul”.

“First of all, in Romania, in order to have a new party to have some results, it must be built around a leader with an extremely good image, you can build a party based on ideology, values, principles that will bring votes. The confidence of the electorate, people with ideas, people with values to bring to the face, who will attract the public on their side ”points out Vladimir Ionaș.

Those who have been successful “There are parties that have strictly appeared as a project of important political characters”also points out the politicalologist George Jiglău, showing that these constructions had a leader in the center, and the sympathy for them transferred to the party.

However, the criteria needed for a successful party are more: “To take more mandates locally in several places in the country, to reach that 3% threshold, after which you recover your money in a campaign, to have some image elements (…) ultimately the most relevant criterion is to have mandates in Parliament, with which you can enter a government, you have a more visible, you have a more visible,”explains the political scientist George Jiglău, pointing out that the political training must mainly tick several elections with an electoral success.

There are other cases that initially had electoral success. They broke off from larger parties, often leaving with an important wing of people. But some had a short life. This is the case of the PMP, the project associated with the former president Traian Basescu, Pro Romania, taken on the arms of former important leaders in the PSD, in front of the former leader and prime minister Victor Ponta. The two survived for a short time, taking place in Parliament. Once this did not happen again, whether they have a candidate or not, they were given to forget.

There are also examples that have lost the chance of the Parliament, it is the case of Reper, the project of former Prime Minister Dacian Cioloș, that of the Party Forcea, established by the former Liberal leader Ludovic Orban or the one of the sense, supported by the vice -president of the European Parliament, Nicu Stefănuță. All three are formations that are currently struggling to remain relevant, but it is not clear whether all these will survive until the next poll or if they will be absorbed by large formations. The members of the Right force would have requested in the past a negotiation for returning to the PNL.

It is also the case plus, a party established by former Prime Minister Dacian Cioloș and for which such plans went very well. The last voice of the formation extinguished in the USR alliance. The party first started in an election alliance, with which he won places in the European Parliament, then continued with a merger, after which he was elected president Dacian Cioloș. However, the leader left the political construction when he failed to gather a team around his projects, and the new USRPLUS became the new USR.

Alin Tișe leaves PNL

Alin Tişe’s announcement comes after he has tried without success to reach a management position inside the PNL. In fact, PNL Cluj, an organization he runs, lost to the July Congress all the functions of the central management forum. “PNL – a historical party, once a banner of merit and vision, was suffocated by service traitors, incompetent with snoring ambitions, and a well -oiled mechanism that awards obedience, not performance,” at that time he wrote the head of CJ Cluj in a Facebook post at that time. Now announces the establishment of apt – alternative for Romania, stating that a liberal party is required, “Party of productive right ”.

Thus, the analysts are detained on his reasons. It is not clear whether the liberal only intends to shake the electoral capital at the local level of the PNL or to carry the party further, at national level, but his chances of breaking from the supporters further from the region in which he is known are currently low. “Without other politicians in the National Liberal Party or other parts to adhere to such a project, I am afraid that the party cannot pass a certain level”points out the political consultant Adrian Zăbavă.

At the same time, according to him, “Alin Tișe is not a character with a very high national notoriety, but more with an important regional image, given the function he has held in recent years, that of president of the Cluj County Council. It is true that his image was somehow shadowed by the presence of Emil Boc there. From the perspective of the political power, Alin Tișe was not a political power. Each time, but he was an important party man, proof that he was a candidate and was supported by certain organizations for an important position now, that of first vice-president ”.

“It is a message released exactly for that electorate that PNL was lost” – Ionaș Vladimir, sociologist

On the other hand, although it rejects populism, the leader “they play“With the speech of the sovereigns, says the political consultant Adrian Zăbavă. The reason is in the seizure of an audience to whom PNL even let him, the sociologist Vladimir Ionaș believes:”In Romania there is an audience that may not self-identify in this category of conservatives, because, unfortunately, it has been discussed in an extremely negative note about conservatives in recent years in Romania. Gold, for example, is not a conservative party. Conservative represents what the Republican party promotes in the United States, and here I am not talking about President Donald Trump, but about that conservative wing in the Republican Party.

They generally have values that belong to the family, the army, the country, which are related to the good thing, but the conservatives always accept the evolution, but gradually accept it, with the custom of the population. It is, from my point of view, a message launched exactly for that electorate that the National Liberal Party has been represented for a long time, but later lost, to say, because he did not forget about it ”also points out the sociologist Vladimir Ionaș.
