New Year’s Eve gathered millions of Romanians in front of the screens. New Year’s Eve 2026 audience data shows preferences and changes from last year.
New Year’s Eve brought various options for Romanians: some chose to celebrate with friends or family, go on vacations or participate in public events, while others preferred to stay at home, in front of the TV. For the latter, television stations have prepared special programs, designed to maintain the festive atmosphere and mark the transition into the new year.
The media page has made an analysis of the New Year’s Eve 2026 audiences, which highlights the audience’s preferences and the evening’s surprises, as well as the differences between urban and national audience preferences.
Thus, Pro TV maintained its leading position in the New Year’s Eve audiences this year, with its special show presented by Raluka and Pavel Bartoș, after, at the national level, almost two million Romanians watched the program every minute, between 8:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m., which confirms the high interest in the television offer on this festive night.
In second place was Antena 1, which attracted approximately 1.5 million viewers, and Romania TV completed the podium with its special program, “SuperRevelionul”.
Other television stations recorded variations compared to last year.
Thus, Antena Stars climbed the ranking with “New Year’s Eve”, occupying fourth place and becoming one of the few televisions with larger audiences than in 2025.
TVR 1 also recorded increases in both position and number of viewers, reaching sixth place with the show presented by Dan Badea, assisted by Cătălin Neamțu.
Also in the top 10 was the Happy Channel, which maintained its presence among the channels watched by the public.

In the urban environmentPro TV remained the dominant preference, being the only program to surpass the one million viewer mark. Antena 1 ranked second, approximately 200,000 viewers away, followed by Romania TV.
Other stations, such as Antena Stars, saw increases compared to the previous year, while Kanal D completely disappeared from the top 10.
On commercial segment (21-54 years, national ABCD), Pro TV achieved a market share of almost 37%, i.e. more than a third of active viewers watching the station’s program. Together with Antena 1, these two televisions concentrated almost 65% of the commercial audience, demonstrating their dominance on this festive evening.
