Valentine’s Day weekend is a great time to go out. And cinemas are often a good idea, whether it’s a romantic date or just a relaxing outing. The cinema offer these days is varied: from love stories and comedies to thrillers and action films. The most awaited is the premiere “At the Crossroads of the Winds”a screen adaptation that departs from the classic pattern of the famous novel written by Emily Bronte.
“At the Crossroads” premieres this weekend
“At the Crossroads” brings back to the big screens one of the most intense and disturbing stories of passion and obsession in world literature. Inspired by the masterpiece signed by Emily Brontë, the film proposes a contemporary and daring reinterpretation of the relationship between Catherine and Heathcliff. “In the book, they barely kiss. In our version, they kiss a lot.”, Margot Robbie, the Oscar-winning actress who plays Catherine, said in an interview. The role of Heathcliff is played by Jacob Elordi, one of the most popular actors of the moment. The choice of Robbie for the main role was criticized by some of the fans of the novel, because of the age difference between the character and the actress: in the book Catherine was a 19-year-old teenager, and Margot Robbie is 35.
