What the BEC decided regarding the polling stations for the parliamentary elections

In the 2024 parliamentary elections, citizens with the right to vote will express their options in the same polling stations organized for this year’s presidential elections, according to the decision taken by the Central Electoral Bureau on Monday.

According to BEC, the provisions are in accordance with the provisions of Law no. 208/2015 regarding the election of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate and of the Decision of the Permanent Electoral Authority no. 44/2016 regarding the set of minimum conditions that must be met by the locations where the polling stations operate, as well as their minimum equipment, writes Agerpres.

If there are changes regarding the location of the polling station, they must be thoroughly justified and publicly announced at least three days before the election day.

“In thoroughly justified situations, the headquarters of the polling stations used in the elections for the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies in 2024 may be different from those used in the first round of voting for the election of the President of Romania in 2024, under the condition of ensuring their accessibility and publicity with the at least 3 days before the voting day”, it is also shown in the BEC decision.

We remind you that the first voting round of the presidential elections is scheduled for November 24, the second takes place on December 8, and the parliamentary elections will take place on December 1.
