Students in Romania will enter the 2026 spring vacation on Saturday, April 4, 2026, after the end of module 4 courses of the 2025-2026 school year. The last day of school before the holidays will be Friday, April 3, 2026.
School inspectorates have determined that the holiday week, also known as the “ski holiday”, will be between February 9 and March 1, 2026.
Thus, the students in Romania took their vacations in three periods: February 9-15, 2026, February 16-22, 2026 and February 23 – March 1, 2026. The students who returned on vacation on March 1 will have about one month of school until the 2026 spring vacation awaits them.
The students’ spring vacation starts on April 4
Spring Break 2026 is scheduled from April 4 to April 14, 2026, and students will return to classes on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, when the last learning module of this school year begins.
In total, students will have approximately 11 days off, which includes both weekends and the days surrounding the Easter holidays. The holiday is designed so that students can spend Easter with their families and rest before the last part of the school year.
When does Orthodox and Catholic Easter fall
In the year 2026, the feast of the Resurrection of the Lord is celebrated on different dates by the two major Christian denominations.
Catholic Easter will be celebrated on April 5, 2026
Orthodox Easter will be celebrated on April 12, 2026
The difference arises because the two churches use different calendars for calculating the date of Easter. The Catholic Church uses the Gregorian calendar, while the Orthodox Church refers to the Julian calendar for establishing the vernal equinox and the Easter full moon.
Thus, the 2026 students’ spring break includes both the Catholic Easter and the Orthodox Easter period.
