At the beginning of June, the employees of Romania will enjoy an extended weekend, as the Pentecost holiday brings a three -day mini -vacation, during Saturday, June 7, Monday, June 9, according to the Calendar of legal days.
Popular faith says that the kids punish those who work on Pentecost. To keep them from them, people wore garlic and pelin these days. The latter was put in the hat, on the belt, in the breast and sat on tables or in bed.
This weekend, Orthodox Christians have four major holidays within three days: Saturday, June 22, are summer estates. Sundays are the Pentecost (the descent of the Holy Spirit or the Pentecost). On Monday, June 24, is the next day of Pentecost (Holy Trinity), a holiday with a mobile date, and the birth of Saint John the Baptist, a Fixed Date.
What other free days do Romanians have in 2025
In total, the employees of Romania benefit from 17 legal free days, of which 13 during the week. Here are the most important:
August 15 – The Assumption of the Virgin Mary (Friday)
November 30 – Saint Andrew (Sunday)
December 1 – National Day (Monday)
December 25-26-Christmas (Thursday and Friday)
Further free days for budget
In addition to the legal free days, the Government can decide to grant additional free days for the budget, which must be recovered. In 2025, Friday, May 2, it was declared a free day for employees in the public sector, creating another four -day mini -vacation for May 1.
It is also possible for the authorities to approve additional days during the winter holidays, to extend the Christmas and New Year.
