“Why not protest anymore? When did you take these measures, did you talk to the social partners? Our politicians are more interested in the issues in the judiciary and are able to dust the coalition for them.” Marius Nistor told Antena 3 CNN.
After the Vice President CJ Arad asked to maintain the protests, but also to start the school on September 8, Marius Nistor replied that this is not a protest, but a boycott.
“But the boycott is something else. The common sense has completely disappeared when you have implemented these measures. What do we have to celebrate on September 8th? 35 years of underfunding education,” he said.
Also, the president of the federation gave assurances that, following a referendum, he will decide whether Tuesday the teachers will protest on the street or in schools.
He thanked the parents who go out to Victoriei Square and, to those who do not know whether to send their children to school on September 8, recommended them to “listen to what civil society and trade union organizations say.”
“Our colleagues will decide, based on the referendum on Tuesday, if 80% of teachers will protest in the street or units. In situations where students will come to school, teachers will wear white banders, in solidarity.
Until Sunday night, we try to have this answer ”, he said.
However, the Minister of Education, Daniel David, urged his parents to take their children to school on Monday and declared optimistic that the hours will start normally. Antena 3 CNN contacted the county school inspectorates to find out where the school begins on Monday, and where not.
