“The confidence in Western leaders (King Charles, Sandu, Macron) is declining, compared to the March 2024 measurement, that is, before the crisis caused by the annulment of the presidential elections. Their support is concentrated in the educated urban and among the voters of the pro-Western profile (especially the USR and the PNL), but the PNL) Trump and Vladimir Putin are the only ones who gain confidence, their support coming from rural areas, low education segments and gold electorate ”claims Remus Stefureac, director of Inscop Research.

King Charles remains the leader with the most balanced political support, but has a significantly lower level of trust among young people.

“Maia Sandu and Emmanuel Macron cause the largest polarizations between the urban elites and the rest of the population, being strongly rejected in the rural and especially by the gold electorate, against the background of the electoral positions of the formation. On the whole, the data shows a geopolitical polarization in Romania between the pro-Western orientation of the urban centers Rural and traditionalist, influenced by the electoral rhetoric of gold, whose voters show a level of confidence in Vladimir a little double, compared to the population average and three or even 4 times higher, compared to the PSD, PNL and USR ”voters”, States Steiureac.
