Starting from August 9, in cinemas all over the world you can see the blockbuster “Borderlands”, a film produced in Hollywood and which has the Romanian Florian Munteanu in one of the main roles, alongside stars such as Cate Blanchett, Jamie Lee Curtis and Kevin Hart.

Florian Munteanu is the last name on the very short and select list of Romanian actors with leading roles in top Hollywood films, alongside Sebastian Stan, Marcel Iureș, Maia Morgenstern, Alexandra Maria Lara, Catinca Untaru and Johnny Weissmuller.
In the film “Borderlands”, Florian Munteanu plays the role of Krieg, the muscular protector of a wild pre-adolescent girl. The film is based on one of the best-selling video game franchises of all time.

And the story of Florian Munteanu’s life is itself one of a movie. His parents, originally from Târgu Mureș, left for Germany in 1985. Florian Munteanu was born in Germany in 1990 and became fond of boxing as a child, managing to win numerous matches in various competitions in Germany.
In 2016, Florian Munteanu met the famous promoter Eduard Irimia for the first time. And he told him that he was made for film, not boxing, and convinced him to change his career.
It caught the attention of Sylvester Stallone
In 2018, Florian Munteanu became famous after attracting the attention of Sylvester Stallone, who co-opted him for a leading role in the movie “Creed II”. The role of Viktor Drago, Ivan Drago’s son, played by Dolph Lundgren in the Rocky series, brought Munteanu to the attention of Hollywood producers, who appreciated his talent.
Florian Munteanu also played in the third season of the well-known series “Vikingii”, broadcast on Netflix. Florian played the role of Byzantine general Georgios Maniakes (11th century) in the series, who led a revolt against Constantine IX Monomachus, emperor of the Eastern Roman Empire.

Florian, who lives in America, in Los Angeles, trains every day and is good friends with, among other stars, Dolph Lundgren.
Until he was 14, Florian Munteanu practiced football, basketball, boxing, handball, swimming and tennis, after which he focused exclusively on boxing, before making a career in Hollywood.
