DRDP Iași warns drivers to drive carefully, because snow was reported in the north of Moldova, which necessitated the presence of snow removal machines on the roads.

The first signs of winter appeared in the north of the country. The Regional Directorate of Roads and Bridges (DRDP) Iași announced on Tuesday, November 18, that in the high mountain area of Suceava county, light snow has begun to fall, while sleet is recorded in the rest of the county. The rangers are in the field and intervene where necessary to prevent the formation of snow.
According to the information provided by DRDP Iași, the mixed precipitation affects especially the mountainous part of Suceva, where the temperatures are lower, while in the low areas the sleet has made the road wet, which can cause problems for drivers who are not prepared for winter conditions.
“Light snow in the high mountain area of Suceava county, with sleet in the rest. Also, short-term snowfall was recorded during the morning in the mountain area of Neamț county – DN 15B, Petru Vodă.
At the moment, the road on the entire network of national roads in the region of Moldova is perfectly passable, subject to the ANM warnings of cooling weather and mixed precipitation, especially for the mountainous area. Drive carefully and with the appropriate vehicle equipment!”, the DRDP Iaşi sent on Tuesday on its official Facebook page.
The representatives of the institution state that, despite the weather phenomena, the road condition remains good. The roadway is currently “perfectly passable” on the entire national road network in Moldova, but caution is recommended, especially at high altitudes and in areas where machinery is used.
