Sha’carri Richardson, one of the fastest women in the world and world champion in the 100-meter test, was involved in an incident that surprised everyone, just before the start of US championships.

The 25 -year -old athlete was arrested on July 27 at Seattle Airport for domestic violence, following a physical altercation with her partner, Christian Coleman athlete, 100 m world champion, who competed on Friday in Triaals, where she ranked 5th at 100 m.

According to the official report of the Seattle Port police, quoted by ProTV, Sha’carri Richardson was detained under the charge of domestic violence, being released only the next morning. We remind you that the American athlete was involved in a huge scandal in 2021, then being positive for marijuana consumption.

The incident took place after the two went through a security check and was surprised by the surveillance cameras at the airport. Imagimine shows how Sha’carri Richardson comes from behind Christian Coleman, who seems to try to move away, then pushes him strongly enough to hit a pillar. Subsequently, the athlete pushes him again, this time with sufficient strength to bring him down to the ground and throw a helmet in her partner.

Despite the obvious violence in the pictures, Christian Coleman chose not to cooperate with investigators and refused to officially appear as a victim in this case.

The event had an immediate impact on the presence of the athlete in competitions. On Friday night, Sha’carri Richardson withdrew from the 100 -meter sample semifinals. Initially, she had announced that she would not participate in the 200 -meter race scheduled on Saturday, but was later changing. The American athletics federation has confirmed for AFP that the athlete is expected to start.

Leaving aside the domestic scandal, it must be said that Sha’carri Richardson already has a place in the 100 m test at the Tokyo World Championships, scheduled on September 13-21, thanks to the title in 2023 in Budapest.
