Young Israeli cyclist Guy Timor has died after being hit by a drunk driver while training in the south of the country.
“How sad is that. How tragic. How much I belong to them. (…)Guy Timor, 21, one of the country's most promising young cyclists, was out training his bike this morning ahead of the team race in Israel – and was fatally struck by a wildly driven car”the club management sent.
“It is unthinkable. For what seemed like a moment, he competed alongside our pilots in the uniform of the Israel National Team at the Nations Cup in Poland – and suddenly he was gone. What a terrible disaster.” exclaimed Lahav Davidson, the young sports director of our reserve group, Academic Cycling.
He stood out in the last year as one of the most talented cyclists in the country. In the Israeli championship, he finished second in the Under 23 category.
“The Israel Premier Tech Group extends its condolences to the Timor family, the IGP Group and the entire Israeli cycling community for the terrible disaster that took the life of Guy Timor. Rest in peace. May his memory be a blessing”the club representatives also sent.
