On the occasion of the Day of Financial Education, celebrated annually on April 11 according to Law no. 83/2022, the Finprotect Association and the “Nicolae Kretzulescu” Economic College organized a seminar dedicated to young people, held in the College Historical Hall.
The event benefited from the support of the partners: UNSAR, Intaro Insurance Services, 123credit.ro, Omniasig and InfoSig Claim.
The importance of the day of financial education is becoming more visible in a society in which economic decisions and access to financial products directly influence the quality of life. This day dedicated to awareness and learning about money, savings, investments and credits is an essential step in the direction of forming informed and financially responsible adults. Through initiatives such as the seminar organized by Finprotect and the “Nicolae Kretzulescu” Economic College, supported by platforms such as 123credit.ro, young people have the chance to understand the basic financial mechanisms and to make wiser decisions, in the long term.
In order to give the students a more clear and applied perspective on the financial world, the organizers invited several professionals in the field, who spoke to young people both from their own experience and about the current trends in the industry.
Among the special guests were:
- Dr. Călin Rangu – president of the Chamber of Commercial Diplomacy with the Swiss Confederation;
- Valentin Blăjan – representative 123redit.ro;
- Dr. Adrian Morar – Leaders Inside and investor;
- Bogdan Georgescu – Kent Medway Cyber Cluster, UK.
During the seminar, Valentin Blăjan from 123redit.ro addressed topics related to the choice of the right financing, explaining the differences between various lending products, the evolution of interest over time and the importance of correct comparison of a mortgage loan. He also discussed the right time for refinancing. Its presentation also included a session dedicated to the analysis of consumers’ behavior, highlighting how they can adopt a rational approach in interaction with financial institutions, so that the purchase decisions are motivated by utility, not by emotional impulses.

The students showed a special interest in the topics presented, such as the artificial intelligence applied in the financial field, insurance, investments in capital markets and goods, bank loans and investments, cyber security. Also, the tendency of young people to become financially independent, emphasizing mental and physical health, family relationships and financial safety was highlighted.
The action was carried out with the support of Mrs. Mirela Dinescu, director of the Economic College “Nicolae Kretzulescu”, and highlighted the institution in promoting financial education among young people.
