Zinedine Zidane returns, after a three-year hiatus: he clapped hands with a huge club

Zinedine Zidane, who has not coached anyone since the summer of 2021 after parting ways with Real Madrid, is ready to return to football. The 51-year-old Frenchman would have reached an agreement with Bayern Munich and will take over the Bavarian group in the summer, claims Mundo Deportivo.

According to the Iberian daily, Zinedine Zidane is expected to sign the contract. The French would have asked the team to seriously strengthen the squad, especially in the defensive department. Bayern Munich, newly qualified for the semi-finals of the Champions League, where they will meet Real Madrid, will part with Thomas Tuchel at the end of the season.

Xabi Alonso and Nagelsmann refused the Bavarian group

The main target of the Bavarians was Xabi Alonso, but the Iberian decided to continue at Bayer Leverkusen. The management of the Bavarians then shifted to Julian Nagelsmann, but the former coach of the Munich group has just extended his contract with the German Federation and will remain in charge of the national team. Thus, Zidane, with whom the Bavarians have discussed in the past, has reached the pole-position for taking over the job.

And the French daily L'Equipe writes about Zidane's future. He does not deny the deal with the Bundesliga giants, but claims that Zizou would be more inclined to take over at Manchester United, where the Ten Hag's seat has been wobbly this season.

Zinedine Zidane only coached at Real Madrid. He was first sports director, then took over the U17 team, Real Madrid Castilla (second team) and was the coach of the first team in two terms, January 2016 – May 2018 and March 2019 – June 2021. With the Iberian group, Zizou won 11 trophies : 3 UCL (2015/2016, 2016/2017, 2017/2018), two LaLiga (2016/2017, 2019/2020), two Spanish Super Cups (2017/2018, 2019/2020), two European Super Cups (2016/ 2017, 2017/2018) and two World Club Championships (2016/2017, 2017/2018).
