“Over 7,900 euros for each child with disabilities. From October 1, the pre-enrollment for the E-Vouchers in the Tech-Assist project begins. It is a real chance for thousands of children to be more independent and for parents to know that they are not alone. I encourage you to inform and apply, for each child to receive,” Minister Florin Manole said on his Facebook page.

According to the National Authority for the Protection of Persons with Disabilities (ANPDPD), the project aims to increase children’s autonomy and facilitate their access to assistive technologies.

The e-vouchers can be used for the purchase of a variety of products, from rolling chairs and hearing aids to screen readers, specialized software, adapted furniture or alarm systems.

The maximum value of an e-Voucher is 39,900 lei, VAT included, and parents or legal tutors can purchase up to three products and three compatible accessories, depending on the specific needs of the child.

Who can benefit and what conditions should be met

The program is addressed to minors who have their domicile or residence in Romania, have a valid disability classification certificate and are legally represented by parents or guardians. Children who have benefited in the last year of public funding for the same technology cannot apply.

Pre-enchantment is done online on the ANPDPD website, and parents complete a digital form. Subsequently, an expert will contact the applicants for submitting the documents and identifying the right technology, based on medical or specialized recommendations.

After approving the file, the e-Voucher is issued and transmitted electronically.

The institution states that at least 25% of the total funds of the project are dedicated exclusively to the needs of children with disabilities, in order to increase their chances of school and social integration.
