Between May 24 and June 2, the twelfth edition of Romanian Design Week takes place, the most complex event dedicated to the creative-cultural industries in Romania. For the fourth consecutive year, IQOS supports the festival that helps to reconnect Bucharest residents with the city they live in and reaffirms the potential of local creative industries. The event brings together designers, local entrepreneurs and the public interested in design and art.
With the theme “Unlock The City”, the 2024 edition of Romanian Design Week aims to investigate the ways in which creativity and innovation can shape the cities of tomorrow.
RDW wants to contribute to the exploration of Bucharest, to the discovery of the potential of creative spaces in the city and the cultural organizations or projects that animate them.
IQOS joins this endeavor through two collaborations with Romanian artists, with whom they celebrate the synergy of the senses in the spirit of a community united under the sign of design. Thus, IQOS continues its stated mission of supporting progress and the creative spirit.
The first collaboration is “SynergyX” – A decade of Enjoyment, Innovation and Community, an installation signed by Adrian Damian. Through tactile interaction, visitors can experience a mesmerizing symphony of dynamically generated images and sounds. The 'SynergyX' installation is a fusion of art, technology and human connection, where cutting edge technologies come together to create a sensory and emotional experience. Access to the facility is allowed exclusively to persons over 18 years of age.
Known for her colorful and lively creations, Lana Dumitru is the second designer and digital artist to complete the IQOS experience at Romanian Design Week 2024. Inspired by the IQOS community's passion for art and design, the artist has created a limited edition collection, especially for Romanian Design Week. The vivid colors, textures and pattern symbolize communion with those around you and the strong bonds that individuals develop in community.
A project of The Institute, Romanian Design Week is the largest interdisciplinary event in Romania that contributes to the development of domestic creative industries. The festival promotes design, architecture, creativity and innovation as tools for cultural, social and economic growth. Each edition presents more than 150 recent projects signed by local architecture and design studios. The program also includes satellite events hosted by design studios, showrooms, creative hubs and art galleries. Under the umbrella of the festival, exhibitions and events are organized that aim to make design accessible to a wide audience. In 2023, Romanian Design Week attracted over 85,000 visitors during the 17 days of the festival.
