The Romanian tennis player Sorana Cîrstea was defeated by the Russian Ana Blinkova 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (10/5), on Tuesday, in the first round of the Roland Garros tournament, the second Grand Slam of the year .

The Romanian finished with 3 aces and 3 double faults, and Blinkova (25 years old, 55 WTA) committed 6 double faults. Sorana Cîrstea was superior in terms of winners, with 47-29, but she also made more unforced errors, 42-21.

Cîrstea defeated the 2022 Transylvania Open champion in their only previous meeting in 2020 in the first round at Dubai (ITF), 6-2, 6-1.
