Constantin Chiriac reviewed the most important special events and: “It is an unprecedented edition. It was hard for me to believe that we could overcome an anniversary edition like last year's. Friendship has probably brought with us so many important names from John Malkovich to Pippo Delbono, from Tim Robbins to Sasha Waltz, from Mikhail Baryshnikov to Isabelle Adjani, from Neil LaBute to Jan Fabre. There are so many that we haven't mentioned yet, so we invite the public to discover the program on the website and in the FITS app, to follow all our communication channels, because we are trying to adapt our message on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn or the FITS Blog.” said the President of FITS, Constantin Chiriac.
Constantin Chiriac also spoke about the other sections whose program is available on the Festival website (sibfest.ro): Performances-lectures (7 scheduled events), Press Conferences and Special Conferences (22 events), Exhibitions (191 events ), Visual Arts Platform (PAV), Therme Forum, Book launches (22 events), and to which the public is eagerly awaited.
This year's edition will also include a rich French season, which will celebrate the 100 years of the French Institute in Romania, as well as an extensive Polish season, which will offer a preview of the Romania-Poland Cultural Season 2024-2025.
The 31st edition of FITS will take place from June 21-30 and will offer a third more shows than the previous year, with an average of 5 shows per day. Also this year there will be more open-air performance spaces and numerous surprises, together with guests of great cultural value, both national and international. The theme of this year's edition is friendship, and emphasizes the importance of human connections that have underpinned the Festival's evolution over the course of 31 years.
Constantin Chiriac stated that ticket prices are the same as in previous years. In addition to the hundreds of events with free entry, ticket prices will be between 30 and 150 lei, the same level as in 2022, with discounts available for several categories, oradesibiu mentions.
